    speed bag training?

    Hello community,
    I'm sure this topic has already been covered in a forum but I can't find it.

    What is the best way to train on a speed bag? More importantly how to strike it. I've seen plenty of videos on YouTube and it seems everyone has a different opinion on the matter. I've incorporated some methods into my speed bag training and I seem to have strained my wrist. I'm not sure if its from over training or simply doing it wrong. I alternate between hitting straight on with my knuckles and a sort of chopping motion with a closed fist.

    Please if anyone can direct me to the thread that covers this or give me your opinions that would be appreciated. Thanks.

    A speed bag? Never heard of it. Actually, I think that I read something about hitting the bag with the side of your fist while rotating your forearms with your elbows held high. If that's what you're talking about, I've seen one of those before. It was in a store display.

      I can hit the speed bag very very fast..It is the hardest bag to master;
      even harder than the double-end bag.It took me years to master the speed
      bag...Bruce Lee used to say if want to learn to kick,then kick!..same thing.
      Start off by placing the laces in the same spot every time you start so
      you get familiar.I like to start with the laces to left for example...No doubt,
      it is easier and best to use one hand first.What part of the hand is not that
      important,just try to get a rhythm with the one hand.When you can do this then
      introduce the second hand.

        Ah, thanks. But as far as striking goes though, which way would be better? A lot of people say striking with the side of the palm, but I don't see the practicality in that.
