Any of you ever hit a water bag?

My gym just hung one up recently. Its basically a heavy bag except filled with water. Its a pretty interesting tool. you can hit it without gloves and your knuckles dig in easily which makes it potentially useful for making sure ur punching right. It also barely moves. probably not the best bag for developing power but I like it.

    Anyone else hit one before?

No, it sounds interesting though. Obviously, it deforms extensively, so I don't know if this implies you are punching through your target better. Personally, I like to hit the heaviest bags, in order to develop power, given the resistance. However, lighter bags are also good, in terms of developing leg movement and maybe following a certain spot on the bag, for movement. How much does this water bag weigh and what are it's selling points again? I guess it makes sense, given humans are 75% water, so maybe it's trying to simulate hitting a human body.

Water Bags are all that hung at Galaxy.

I don't recommend hitting these bags with no gloves on.

I'll take a waterbag over a traditional bag every day of the week.

Not only are they heavy and build you strong but your cushioned during the impact of the blow yet the weight is still there and it is moved if you dig in hard.

        Water bags>regular heavy bag

Easier on your hands but not as good as a regular bag as far as snap and follow through on your punches. Overall I don't like them.

Totally agree, I've used one before and you will never go back to regular heavybags.

I quite liked hitting a water bag over the traditional heavy bag, it's much safer for wrist injuries and so on which makes it my personal choice just a shame they won't invest in one at the gym as it was trialed by some company.

Green K you again when I can. I love the water bags. Less stressful on your wrists and you need to really set on your punches to get it to snap correctly. I wish more places had them
