    Boxing Gloves!

Hi, i live in Canada so i think Rival will be the best for me so i won't have to worry about custom duties and shipping costs. I have been boxing for around 2 months and the glove i have right now are worth around 30$ and are pretty bad. I have sparred a few times with the gloves in my gyms because my glove doesn't really have any padding. However, I want to get my own pair of glove for the future. My coach recommended me to get sparring gloves over bag gloves because I can only afford 1 glove right now. I was deciding between the RS2V and the RS11V. Have you guys tried both and what are the pros and cons of these gloves? Which one is better? Also I was also wondering if it was bad to use these sparring gloves on the heavy bag and hand pads as i have heard many people say it may mess up the padding of the gloves. I can only afford a pair of gloves at the moment so should i invest my money in Sparring, training, or bag gloves? I am also opened to other glove suggestions as long as it's not over $150.

I am new to the forum too, but your post should be within the gear thread in this sub-forum. I had glove questions today and it was posted under that separate space. This keeps from having random threads all over the place bud.

I would get a moderately priced pair of sparring gloves and bag gloves.
Title platinum ultimate sparring gloves are good gloves. I got 18oz ones.

I bought my headgear from rival and I'm very happy with it. They're a good brand but seem to be a little more expensive for what you get than title or ringside.

Vancouver people, where do you train?

Sportchek in Metrotown has 16 oz Hayabusa gloves for under 100 bucks. Good quality, a little bit harder on sparring partners than the gloves mentioned here, but nothing sinister.

How bad are the Everlast protex range? I have a pair of title bag gloves that are getting pretty wrecked at this point and I need to replace them. Sportsdirect are doing a clearance on protex2 gel and regular gloves and they're cheap as chips. Would I get six months out of a pair? Or are they best avoided?

Nothing wrong with rival. But I would always recommend Grant.

Cool. I heard East Van had a cool boxing gym but it burned down.

I'm not living there now, but will check out Contenders if I move back to Vancouver.

And go with the Rivals. Russ Anber gotta eat.
