If you are hanging it from the rafters, you can get a rafter hanger from ringside.com. It mounts in between the rafters to give it more height. You want to be punching straight into the middle of the bag. 100 lb. bag is decent, you can get them from Ringside or Title. My gym just got some Title ones and they aren't bad. Heavybag gloves from Ringside or Title will run you $40-$50 plus shipping. I use Everlast bag gloves. $80 but a bit harder padding and a bit slimmer than the others. Reyes sparring gloves are great if you are ever going to spar.

Ok thanks everyone. I will check in to it...

        How are the Everlast Nevatears?

They have those at the local sporting goods store for like $90 for 100 lbs... any opinions on those? good price?

Make sure the wall is a solid brick wall!

Punch bag brackets or hooks to be attached by the ceiling beam should be made of steel.
