How to stay motivated to train really hard all the time?

All the road work, hard strength training, injuries etc etc

Its an exceptionally demanding sport and you need to have exceptional motivation to even be competative.

I wonder if anyone here can give some tips on boosting motivation, hunger, drive and so forth?

Any old timers? Current boxers? Or knowlegable individuals here to answer this?

I believe there are two options basically: be the best or be special

Hagler, Mayweather way based on inner insecurity that the opponent might be better prepared, fear to loose and so on, desire to be the best

    or

Sugar Ray's, Ali way based on the desire to express themselves as artists with the boxing toolset, desire to be special

dream of the fight, order a pizza and get yourself a car. The rest should be self explanatory.

            for drive: buy a car
            for hunger: order a pizza.
I'm still learning to spell this sport called bocksing.

once you jump into some deep waters you are going to see very quickly that if you want to be in this sport for any length of time that you will need to work hard, harder than the hardest work that you can imagine. Grinding meticulouly, sweating, bleeding and just busting your ass day after day. It's all worth it once they raise your fist with the nod. The adrenaline that you feel everyday with the gloves on is just a bonus.

if you'd rather lose than win go ahead and be not motivated. knowig that one more round of hard work may be the difference between a winners trophey or the consolation prize should be enough, but knowing that you could be beaten up should be motivating enough by itself.

you want motivation, schedule yourself for a bout in the near future. if that doesn't get you grinding than nothing will and you should probably find another sport to persue.

you just gotta want it, simple as that........Rockin'

be carefull thinking that you are matched against another noob so it'll be easy in there. just have your coach be CERTAIN that it's another noob he's lining you up against. you'll scrap for 3 rounds of a minute or a minute and a half I'd assume. 60/90 seconds can be a long time. but if you can't find the right bout for yourself then forget about it for a month or two and just bust your ass in the gym.

                Good luck.......... Rockin'

Its a mindset. Train your mind. Everything else is secondary.

                    And watch this video everyday/morning.

                    and this

Changed my mentality and way of thinking forever. I watch this often to remind myself its the mind that controls everything we do/our actions. Your mind plays tricks on you EVERYDAY.

Unchain your mind and free yourself from the imprisonment of your mind that is holding you back. Shift your focus, and put the MAXIMUM amount of effort into your training. You will prosper and set yourself from the cage your mind wants you to remain. Break the chain.

You have to be willing to put in the work and better your opponent. It comes down to how much YOU want it.

                    Good luck bro.
