I do a lot of strategy. Based on the weaknesses, strengths and tendancies of opponents, sparring partners and what I am seeing and not seeing in performance ..we also use periodization, we will train a time frame to go against a runner, or we will run and potshot, train visualization of tall guys short guys, ...train tempo changes, like go all out aggressively against an emotional guy that's maybe not good defensively and then once he is tired, pull out, make him come to us and pick him apart...bait counter punchers, on n on....I have had guys who honesty weren't better or as experienced or technically sound ,out perform and or beat guys from having strategies (plural) ....its always good to have options...lots of guys out there with good technique, but being able to out think a cat or to have them figured out before the fight, is a win before the victory! I know the importance of drills though. There's a reason the Cubans have been on top in the amateurs for years....but when you stretch those fights out for more rounds, strategy is even more key! I like guys that can think and dissect opponents and situations.
    DREW...lol
