I throw a punch from my hips, what am I supposed to do right before impact?

So I twist my hips stay loose, loosely hold my arm up at 90 degrees for say a hook punch, then just before impact what do I do?

Im trying to go through the bag, but how long do I drive through?

Should I add upper body and arm strength right at the momet of impact or should all the force becomming ONLY from my legs hips and torso?

I apon impact push with my arm and upper body, and try to drive through for about 3+ seconds, I thought this might be ok because ive powered it from the hip 1st and up until impact I have kept my arms and upper body very loose and so havnt lost any speed?

move your head and feet to position yourself to attack from a different angle , remember just enough for you to connect and enough to keep away from trouble but if you have fast feet it shouldn't be a problem

"just enough for you to connect and keep out of trouble"?

man you have to welcome trouble and kick it in the nutz!

what about the follow up shot?

what about taking ground and digging

what about rolling under or slipping a shot while taking a side to deliver more.

Pitty-pat and run away. You must be a direct descendand of the Calazaghes or atleast a European.......... Rockin'

Hit and don't be hit, it's basic boxing.

To take a step in while defending and countering is far past basic boxing.

'hit him and get out of trouble'.....? no way

hit him and position your self to either cause more trouble or to defend while taking sides. you want a breathe you take it.

I'll know that a fighter was trained by HUGHJASS, he'll try to hit you and then throw his hands into the air while turning 180', "Run Away!! Run Away!!" Monty Python Holy Grail style........... Rockin'

I know enough to know that a pro will stand and comfortably work inside of the 'danger zone' instead of just running away from it.

why back up immediately to give ground that you just spent time and energy to take? keep working if it's there.

what do looks have to do with anything?

I am glad that you've done your thing in the sport but I still disagree.
