One armed knuckle pushups.. good or bad idea?

Part of my daily routine includes 4 different kinds of pushups... Fingertip, Knuckle, Diamond, and then just regular pushups.

Lately I been thinking of adding one armed pushups to the routine... I was gonna substitute regular pushups for one armed pushups, but then I started thinking maybe doin one armed knuckle pushups could do more for me since they're supposed to improve wrist stability.

Is this a good idea, or am I overdoing things and potentially ruining my hands?

Knuckle Push Ups are ******. There is no difference or benefit in comparison to a regular push up other than a bit more ROM.

Usually people you see doing knuckle push ups are wanna be tough guys who teach karate in McDojo's to prove how tough they are.

Just stick to regular push ups and if you want the extra ROM. Use Dumbell handles, med balls or some type of elevated platform like boxes or step-boxes

You streaghne your knuckles if doing push ups, do it a hardwood floor, or anything rugged surface will do.

Knuckles should be protected, not abused!! If you want hand strength drills use sand in a bucket or rice. Dig in and open and close your fists, run with a tennis ball and alternate hands squezzing half way then as tight as you can!
Chin bar is the best overall least expensive tool you can use. Rig it up in a doorway and you've got all kinds of exercising to do. Use different length grips to excel each exercise too! Ray.

Not worth the risk bro, for all push ups just use your hands the knuckels get toughed up on the heavy bag. If your serious about the knuckle get those bags full of sand/metal shavings etc that bruce lee had, but quite frankly if you hit with your 2 big knuckes and have boxing gloves on you dont need to toughen your knuckles!

A smart boxer looks after his hands (and wrists) a smart athlete prioritises injury avoidance over optimal training methods! Hence why you get top athletes using machines instead of free weights despite machine being proven less than optimal, because one serious injury could be the end of their entire career!
