    Basketball shoes for Boxing??

So, I'm somewhat of a sneakerhead. For boxing I tend to use my old wrestling Asics shoes, they're great but they're getting old. The other day at the gym I saw a guy come in rocking some Nike Hyperdunks, he said they're great for Boxing. Has anyone had any experience using this type of shoe? I was thinking about grabbing a pair of Nike Hyperfuses for the gym in replace of my old wrestling shoes but I'm unsure. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of thing??

    I'm looking at these.

Is it worth it, or a waste of money??

The cushioning makes them less responsive to your movements and really decouples your foot from the floor. Boxing and wrestling shoes (and track shoes for that matter) are thin and hard to give you the best grip, response, and thrust. I notice a big difference.

i use the nike hyperfuse. they are my favorite boxing shoes out of nike machomai, everlast hydrolock, roy jones boxing shoes and asics (the one zab always wore)..i think its a perfect feel for my style. i hop in and out and it doesnt slip when i plant my feet and trade on inside. i think it depends on your style

I do a lot of moving around, since I'm the smaller guy and it gets a little harder for me to get on the inside, where I want to be, I try to always utilize my footwork and bobbing and weaving to slip my way in with my punches. Not sure if these would work for that, but as a guy who likes to stay on the inside, I'm always pivoting and moving to keep my opponent from getting away. LEast that's how it works when I spar. I've yet to compete.

I've destroyed people in sparring wearing some Allen Edmonds before. It really doesn't make as much of a difference just like the newest Jordan's don't make you any better at basketball. Just my opinion though.

Haha I'm sure you're right. But I was just curious because well, I like the way the shoe looks, but I don't wanna bloe $80 then find out it was pointless. I just want something that's light, has good ankle support, and gives me good enough grip to move around freely.
