    Thinking About Taking Supplements Again

Haven't been taking any protein powders, energy booster or fat burners. i am starting to lift weights since i got the weight that i wanted. for past months all i did was calisthenics.

do i need to really take supplements? or should i just stick to all natural and just eat good protein less carb as soon as im done working out?

They're not necessary if you have a very good diet.

The basics are a multivitamin, fish oil, and whey protein powder.

Beyond that, there's the preworkout category. This depends on what you are looking for in a preworkout. Energy, focus, "pump" (mainly for weightlifters), muscular endurance.

For boxing/cardio related workouts, you should avoid stimulants (like caffeine, 1,3 dimethylamylamine, ephedrine/ephedra), so the following stim-free preworkouts are good for this purpose:

MAN Body Octane (helps increase oxygen flow, reduces muscular fatigue):

Omega Sports Ultima (expensive, mental energy/focus based):

Millennium Sport Technologies Cordygen5 or Cordygen VO2 (VERY good for cardio, optimizes oxygen usage in the body):

Also, drink tons of water. Especially if you decide to use a preworkout.

Yeah im just gonna go with the basics. Im not the type to be taking all that meat head supplement bullshiet.

I do have a pretty good diet. I think i'll be adding the protein shake. I just dont know which one is good right now. I been asking gnc, nutrition zone and other nutrition shops and they all keep pitching their own product. Its funny i asked this store worker about cytosport and he just went straight rejected it. He tild me right away dont buy it but buy their product instead. I was thinkibg to myself why the fawk does he have it in the first place.

Can u suggest a good protein shake? I dont want to mass or bulk. Just lean/beach body type.

I use PhD Pharma Whey. Tastes great, and very high protein content. It's fortified with a decent amount of additional amino acids as well. BCAAs and L-Glutamine I believe, off the top of my head.

If you want to stay lean though, remember: supplements are just that. They're designed to supplement a good diet/training reigime, not replace one.

i dont take many suppliments. the only things are for safety, not performance. now im taking whey, a joint supp and fish oil at the moment. boxing takes a huge toll on your body and i think that its worth spending a small fortune if it helps your body. i mean can you really put a price on your health? nammam muay is supposed to be good. its 100% natural and all it does is open up airways and act as an anti-inflammatory. i also took creatine at one point, and it gave me loads of energy. im not needing it at the moment though

Depends on what you are trying to do, add weight/just be healthy/etc. A healthy balanced diet beats all. In that diet i would recommend eating salmon 1-2 times a week, and if you are not able to, would recommend taking an omega 3 supplement. But other than that, just eat good. If you do eat a good healthy diet, it makes taking things such as protein/vitamins/etc as redundant. Your body can only deal with so many nutrients, it just pisses out the rest.
