well today i sparred a guy about 8kg heavier than me and him being the bigger guy he had me on the backfoot, what should i be looking to do when fighting off the backfoot also if anyone knows of any good fighters who fought really well off the backfoot could you tell me thanks

Keep the jab going, don't back straight up. Pivot off to one side making sure your feet are set right away, fire of a quick combination and then right back to the movement.
If someone is bigger and is coming forward, they want you to stand still and get in exchanges so they can punch and don't have to chase you. Don't get greedy looking to land too many shots. 2, 3, 4 max and then get out of there right back to moving around.

The term "stick and move"" proves useful.
Move around using the jab, plant your feet, land a combination, move of to the side. Then just repeat this over and over again.
As soon as you hit the ropes pivot and change direction, even bounce of them to a certain extent if you wish.
