I've just found out that I won't be able to compete in amateur bouts because I'm type 1 diabetic

fuuu...

Hope they change that rule at some point, or they find a cure

Gonna be pretty boring just training and not being able to go to the next level

thats messed up we got guys with asthma and stuff in boxing. lots of pros have diabetes, in every sport. buster douglas in boxing or jay cutler in football

I can't believe that's a rule. It seems a little ridiculous because I dont think it makes the risks that much higher or maybe I dont know what Im talking about. Is that a rule in all amateur boxing through the AIBA or is it just in some countries? Are you from the US? Im just surprised because I know highschool football players can be diabetic. And sorry by the way man that sucks and hope all is well with your health.
