    Cycling...and lots of it!

    I may have a new job to go to soon and I'm thinking of cycling back and fore to work every day

    Its about 9 miles away, so it would be a whole lot of cycling

    But I'm trying to look at it from the point of view that back in the day not everyone had the luxury of having a car (I do drive but I hate it and its crazy traffic)

    Anyone think this is a crazy idea?

    on the one hand I'd be losing extra time each day, spending so much time getting there

    the good point is I'd be fit as a fiddle!

    I think it's a great idea, saves money on petrol too.

      the only way i can get to boxing is cycling 7 miles... so thats a 7 mile ride, a 90 min boxing session and a 7 mile ride back. and im very unfit. and there are alot of hills. you will be fine. the only downside is i have to go along a main road with no street lights, pavement or cycle path so ive decided i have to stop boxing for the winter or else i will get hit by a lorry at some point, regardless of lights.

        I cycle to and from the gym and its great, I save loads of money on busfare, get a fairly good workout/warmup before I even get to the gym and its fun too.

        The route to the gym is basically all uphill so its pretty heavy getting there, sometimes I'll get to the gym and I'll be knackered, but then I'll recover after a rest. Going home is awesome though because its all downhill, I love having a hard sparring session and then going back home on my bike flying down the hills with my ipod on and a massive grin on my face lol.

        The only thing I hate is wind, on a windy day biking uphill is fuc*in horrible, really crap especially in heavy traffic.

          I cycle alot, indoors and out.

          Outdoors is good because you tend to get bored, but the big plus about cycling is all the fine bitches who are always on bikes at the gym.

          I sometimes substitute cycling for running to ease up on my joints and it also takes pressure off the hips and knees.

            Yup,cardio routine,cycle & run every other 2nd day.
