Does anyone know the origin of how Winning products made their way into pro fighters' camps and gyms?

It seems like a rather obscure company with a really high markup on their products which are very difficult to order in the first place.

Who was the first fighter / trainer to use Winning products in the USA? Also, do the trainers just order things straight from a catalog, or do professional fighters have exclusive access to certain equipment that others don't?

Just curious.

I don't know the exact origins but Japan itself has a rich boxing history - the Winning gloves have been around since 1937.

Some of the equipment the pros use are made to order, mainly for custom colours.

You could always email the Kazumichi guy that runs it out of the US, he is a nice fellow.
