What do you think of Ross Training? Anyone have any experience with his workouts or have any opinions?

erm what for? this guy is great in my oppinion for developing conditioning needed for boxing. he has some unconventional but effective ideas. but it depends on you aims. if you want conditioning he is great. if you want other things he might not be as good

he is pretty good to make you fit for boxing, but to develop your skill. i cant say how good he was though the training covers the basics.

I am in the best condition of my life (since college track and field 16 years ago) because of rossboxing.com. At least partially due to ross.

Ross has a lot of excellent exercise tips and cares about helping people better themselves. He contributes frequently to his forum and his books, especially Infinite Intensity and Never Gymless are loaded with useful information. They are also cheaper than many books in the bookstore that have far less information.

The strength, conditioning and nutritional stuff all seems top quality. I have struggled to find though detailed technical guidance on the stance, the shots, defensive actions, foot movements and feinting (but maybe I'm missing something.) Tactics and fighter analysis are also absent, both very important considerations for most of the boxers I've worked with over the years.

So, in summary, you could improve strength and conditioning without question, but you might want to look elsewhere for a detailed technical breakdown of boxing as a sport (the basic boxing style involves at least about 43 individual technical elements, each of which can be isolated and demonstrated as a standalone skill). Somewhere like myboxingcoach.com might provide the ideal companion site to rossboxing (what a cheap shot from me, way after the bell!)

                  Cheers, good thread
