What should be eaten before a hard training session.

I usually only have something light such as a bowl of cereal 2 hours before training? Is there better things to eat than that and am I eating at the right time?.

If it helps my training session is 2 hours long and it's very hard, I also try to drink as little water as I can during it so my weight will go down when I weigh out. Is this bad? If so what alternatives are there? I'm not into those Protien shakes/bars either.
    Many Thanks.

Peanut butter sandwich, Not too filling, and it gives you energy.

Complex carbohydrates for that are slower to digest and provide longer release of energy.

Oatmeal, sweet potato, brown rice, whole grain bread etc.

As for the water thing, you should drink more during training. The reason your weight is lower is because of all the water weight you've sweated out. Your weight will go back up once you eat and drink.

Not drinking water isn't helping you burn off any fat and it may even be slowing down your weight loss because you can't train as hard and will get tired quicker when you aren't properly hydrated.
