    Breakfast before run or after?

I often have three hardboiled eggs and cheese for breakfast, I usually run around 8-9 AM. is it better to eat before I run or after? i skip rope, shadow box and hit the heavybag later on in the day. roughly around 12-1 PM. Thanks guys

I also have been drinking alot of green tea and fishoil, is this very beneficial post workout?

It depends. Why are you running?

If you're running to lose weight-- don't eat anything.

If you're running to increase your endurance and maximize your performance-- then you should eat something before.

That's what I find works for me, anyway.

I'm not sure if there is a right or wrong answer for any of this. I have heard a lot of scientific mumbo jumbo that it is better to run before you eat if you are aiming to lose weight. But you have stated that you should eat something first to increase endurance and maximize performance- but surely by increasing endurance and performance means you are able to lose more weight. I seriously cannot function without breakfast first- If I do an 8 mile run before eating I feel flat and lethargic. If I eat first and run about an hour later I feel energetic and I find I can run the same distance with much more intensity. I will guarantee that if I jumped on the scales I would lose more weight running the same distance at higher intensity and a much faster time than what I would feeling sluggish. Maybe we are all different though!!!!

I don't like to eat first, I generally will have some water before I go, take my vitamins about half an hour before and then go. I eat light when I get home. Some fruit, green tea sometimes whole grain toast.
