Going To Far With Healthy Eating?

Really, you see people who don't eat no junk or fast etc. Just eat Veg, fish, meat etc

But do you think they are going to far?

I don't drink, or smoke (NEVER HAVE). But I admit I do love my junk food & takeways.

I train most days & take my vitamins, and drink at least 5 bottles of water a day.

But when i try to eat healthly etc veg, fruit. it's just to much, espcailly when I don't have to diet for nothing, because i dont box.

I feel i can live a healthy life, have a good body & keep fit with my current lifestyle. Everything in moderation.

But sitting there at the dinner table with broccli & chicken is just to grim & always monatiring what i eat, is just to boring.

I agree living healthy is good, but only to a extent imo.

If you've eaten junk food for the majority of your life, it's hard as hell to eat vegetables, fruits, etc. by themselves, yet alone making them the only things you eat. But the health nuts who do eat well daily do it because they're used to it. Once you spend a few weeks or so eating only healthy things like fruits and vegetables, that's all you want to eat anymore. There are some people who eat that way who will literally puke when they taste doughnuts or cakes or pizza, etc. Any desires for junk food fall far behind in most cases. Think of health nuts as the opposites of junk food eaters. Where a junk food eater doesn't like many health foods, a health food eater doesn't like many (in most cases, any) junk food.

Obviously all the fat ass people in the world aren't "going too far with healthy eating".

In general though, I agree with you.

I can't remember where (cos I went searching for a link a few weeks ago and couldn't find anything), but I'm almost certain I heard/read that Michael Phelps himself dismissed his supposed 12000 calorie-a-day diet as complete nonsense.

Nah, it's common knowledge that Floyd is a fast-food/junk-food nut.

Yeah I used to love sweets and chocolates and sugary crap, been eating healthy for about 8 months or so now, and the other night I had a tiny bite of a chocolate bar and I found that it actually tasted way too sweet for my liking, it was actually pretty gross how sweet it was.

He doesn't specifically say 12,000 but...

IGN Sports: What about your diet? Are you always eating super healthy?

Michael Phelps: I eat pretty much whatever I want. I don't have a strict diet. It's all about cramming in as many calories into my system as I possibly can. To be honest with you, I have a tough time keeping weight on.

IGN Sports: What about fast food?

                Michael Phelps: Bring it on!

AM : Tell us about your diet regimen when you're training. Is it true that you still keep it real with the candy, cookies and pizza even when you’re preparing for prize fights?

FM : In the past, I did. I did eat those types of things, but I’m getting a lot older so I’ve got to be a lot wiser. I try to eat candy as little as possible, and I try to eat the right foods not the junk foods. Every now and then you’ll see me drink a little soda here and there because I’m only human. I like to cheat every now and then, but most of the time I’m sticking to my regimen, eating right and training hard.
