what kind of handwear to hit focus pads?

Ive got some handwear i bought from a martial arts shop years ago. But dont know if it is the best gear.

What should i buy? Its confusing when i was in the shops. There was spar gloves, bag mitts.

Does anyone wrap their hands and if you do, is it ok to not do it and get away with without harming your hands. I feel i have weak wrists and hands.

Some people don't wrap their hands, but it's generally a good idea to. Especially if you think you have weak hands/wrists. Get a pair of 180" wraps and find a video on youtube showing you how to do it. Practice a few times and you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly. Your hands are important for boxing and for every day life so protect them.

For hitting pads I use 14oz bag gloves like this:

    To help with your confusion...

Bag gloves are for hitting the heavy bag, double end bag, or pads. Not sparring. The padding in bag gloves is meant to protect your hands. They are too hard to spar in or you will hurt your sparring partner.

Sparring gloves are for sparring. Not hitting bags. The padding is softer and meant to protect your partners face, they don't protect your hands that well against a hard heavy bag.

Training gloves are general purpose gloves that you can use for hitting bags or sparring. If you are going to be sparring with them get 16oz ones (unless you're really light then maybe you can use 14oz ones, ask your trainer first).

Do you think heavy bag mitts do the job then? I saw those in the sports shop.

I have never seen hand wraps in the shop i go to which is a general sports shop and dont specialize in boxing. I will be on the lookout though.

I wouldn't wear those, I prefer somthing with more padding.

Are these gel wraps any good for protection to be worn under bag mitts to only hit focus pads and not the heavy bag.

I bought 2 pairs of lonsdale spar gloves, 8oz medium, and a pair of 10oz large gloves. I bought them to hit my focus pads really.

I was just wondering why on the plastic covering it says it is a functional glove for light sparring? Why cant i use these gloves for full contact sparring? These are the ones linked.

My hands are small but for some reason the large pair seem to feel better on my hand then the medium 8oz pair. What is the relevance of the oz?
