    Vibram FiveFingers barefoot-style shoes?

I'm considering getting a pair to strengthen my feet. I plan on using them for running/boxing/working out.

Has anyone heard of or tried them?

I own the KSOs. They are amazing. I definitely feel stronger in the legs and feet. My feet don't hurt like they used to after running, and calf muscles are beginning to appear rapidly for me.

Let me tell you something. If you've never trained barefoot, there are muscles in your legs and feet that have been dormant for a long time. You need to go easy on the running for the first few weeks. You will get sore on your calves and certain parts of your feet, and that's a good thing. It should go away when you're feet gets stronger though.

Also, you need to know learn how to run the right way, because running with regular shoes have taught most people to strike their heels first whether they notice it or not, and that's bad for the feet and the spine. Running barefoot will be very different and harder at first. But it will benefit you over the long run.

My last advice would be for you to go check out the book, BORN TO RUN. Not only will it help you learn to run the right way, it's about human history and how the modern foot evolved, basically a book about a man's experiences with foot pain and how he overcame it. Really inspiring and informational book about bare-footing and will really help you understand WHY bare-footing is the way to go.

And yeah, I have the audio book for BORN TO RUN. If you're interested, just pm me and I'll shoot a link for you.
