    if you run long distance then it should lose muscle because it's mainly used for endurance, but if you sprint or do interval sprints then it should either solidify what you currently have (strengthen) or build muscle. I know my boy who is a sprint runner in highschool and he does no weights, save for body weight exercises and his legs are like a horse.
