Im looking to do what alex ariza did to amir khan

and that was converting upper body weight to the legs

what kind of things can/should i do to do this

I dont want to be heavy on top and skinny on legs

any advice on how to do this

i was thinking of just working on my legs for a month, by doing 30 40mins on treadmil followed by leg weights in the gym

Sprints, double unders for 2 minutes on the jump rope, jumping squats, jumping switch lunges, and lots and lots of shadowboxing with level changing involved. And thats just a few I like.

I am not much of a fan with working with weight on the legs, you dont need it. These exercises will promote muscle, and train the nervous system to contract the trained muscles quickly, giving great endurance, speed, and explosiveness.

Squat and deadlift, you dont need anything else. Intense cardio is not gonna add weight to your legs though.

Oh and eat lots of meat.

i would do a lot of leg weight machines at the gym, THEN get on the treadmill or elyptical to loosen things up at the end

Machines suck, use free weights to make sure you gain functional strength and power, not just for the looks. Squats, deads, lunges, olympic lifts etc.

do a whole body routine and things will start to even themselves out all over.

putting weight in your legs isnt really the issue, in fact weight in the upper body probably has something to do with the fact that in general stocky guys hit harder.

you want to focus on strength and not mass. so follow the link and STFU and train

                  Squats
                  Lunges
                  Kettlebell Swings
                  Front Squats
                  SLDL's
                  Hex/Trap Bar Deadlifts
                  Box Jumps
                  Jump Squats
                  Wind Sprints
                  Stair Sprints

                  Simple and Functional

but you will still need to workout your entire body
