Use of body punches in amateur

Im trying to improve my body punching, i almost never go to the body, i must train myself to see it more as a target. Sometimes i throw the left hook to the body after a jab to the head but that's about it.

when you're very short and stocky like me you'd be a fool not to hit people to the body.

my coach says 'yeah it probably wont score.. but he's gonna feel it'
