    Best Jump Rope

I have been jumping rope for about a year now and am pretty accomplished, ive been using a fairly cheap jump rope tho and wanted to get a more "advanced" rope and was wondering what the options were!. Ive heard of Budy Lee ropes but they are pretty hard to find in the UK!

So what are the best jump ropes out there?

I personally just use a higher grade plastic/rubber jump rope from sports authority. I don't know if you have those stores in the UK but I would go with a similar one. It gets the job done

DAMNIT you beat me too it. You know the best part about that device is that it even makes the rope snapping sound.

Anyway, I've always been a big fan of the weighted jump ropes. Extra plus if the weight can be removed or added. Nothing says ***y like the pump you get in your forearms from a minute of double unders with a weighted rope.

i learnt from the best boxing trainer in the Netherlands that nothing beats a good old leather jump rope, weighted or not. and i've had one for a while, i gotta say it really is the best. So just try to find a solid leather jump rope, one u can put weights in if u want, and start jumping.

Cheers lads, we dont have sports authority here in the UK but thanks anyway!

The rope i have isnt leather but the thickness of the rope is about the same as the standard leather rope and i was looking for something that would let me create more speed!

If you want speed then just get a standard pvc speedrope, none of those fancy ball bearing handles (which are **** by the way). Just a good old cheap ass pvc speedrope.

They snap quite easily, Ive gone through 2 or 3 in the past 6 months or so, but because they are so cheap it doesnt matter.

I also have a weighted wire rope which is pretty good, and a bit sturdier aswell. If you arent wearing any shoes though it hurts like hell when you trip up .
