Elbow Joint Pain when i throw a Jab??? Please Help!!!

For some unknown reason, whenever i box my left elbow joint pains when i throw a jab as if my arm is over extending. Yes it is worse when i shadowbox because there is no resistance but i even get it when i hit a target. I try to stretch the area well but nothing seems to help. Please note my right elbow joint is fine, no problems.
I only get the pain when i throw my left jab. Like now (normal) i feel nothing, even if i pull and twist nothing only when i throw the jab. Obviously when i turn over my arm this movement is when the pain occurs and the faster i throw the jab the more it hurts.
I have just been ignoring it 4 ages but its getting to the point where i cant even box anymore.

    Any suggestions/help/ideas???

Im going to change my answer to go see a doctor. Just see a doctor, that way you wont end up ruining your body.

Sounds a bit like tennis elbow man or a we strain or something .Use ibrougel , deepheat or deepfreeze or something

and get some ibproufen pills from your doctor he'll probably tell you rice treatment .It sounds like poor technique or you've just adapted to a new training regime .I've hurt mine before man a few years back but sporting injuries are less likley to happen as you get older .I just bought ibproufen and used gel and gave it a we rest.

Elbow Hyperextension Injury (Over straightening of the elbow)

Click elbow injuries on the left and just do what it says to treat it

i've had what u've had..well lol guess not for sure by no means...but i've had pain similar it def comes from overjabbing overextending..ur prob stretching it too much when u do specially now do this...if u can...stay off of the jabs for a week let it recover try if ur allowed by coach to go southpaw for a week develop ur right arm a bit for a jab etc...jus a small suggestion if u cant afford a dr rest is always good...and anti inflammatories

Yep I've had this too. It will get better but it takes time and rest. It can be cartilage or nerve damage. I got by with doing other training, hooks and uppercuts didn't bother it. Sparring may well be a bad idea for the time being, but if you want a challenge perhaps you could train southpaw for a while.

If you only get the pain when you throw your jab, then you are throwing it wrong.

You're most likely snapping your elbow too much when you throw it.

Check out this video starting at about 1:05, he talks about how to throw it with the shoulder instead of the elbow.

Happens alot. You should stretch your arms as best as you can. I had these issues and I started my work out with a light stretch, then got on the bike for 10 minutes straight and threw light punches. After that I stretched normally and began my work out.

Along with ibprofin, you should check into glucosomine.

Just so happens i actually watched this video earlier today lol Im sure im throwing it correctly have boxed for years nobody said anything about my technique. Plus it hurts now so even if i try throwing differently its still gonna hurt. I think its what the guy said above over hyper extension thing, i read the link it sound about right. Im used to fighting taller fighters too so i guess that doesnt help either. Thanks
