Knocked out a 152 pounder in sparring

Was supposed to do some sparring this morning. The kid I was supposed to spar, a 132 pounder, couldn't make it. There is some kid Enrique that goes to my gym I've never sparred before, he's a 152 pounder. We have been going to the same gym for a while now but my trainer never had us spar, I think because he's a lot heavier, I'm a featherweight (125 lbs, now 123). I'm taller than this kid though he's stocky.

Anyway....First 3 rounds of sparring I was juust sticking and moving. I don't remember anything specific but I just kept catching him coming in and moving out of the way.

Then the 4th round I caught him with a good one two when he rushed in and I slipped away to my right. He got pissed off and started really pressuring me after that. I'm hopping away full speed, basically running lol, he's coming at me just as fast. Then I just stopped short and planted my feet, threw a hard straight right, kid ran right into it and he fell over. It was so sick, lol the best punch I ever landed. Especially considering how big this kid was. He was all dizzy when he got up and we had to stop sparring, it was the last round anyway.

I'm not trying to brag or anything I'm just all excited lol.

why would u be bragging about KOing someone in sparring? thats not something to be proud of its something to be embarassed about, being too ******ed to hold back your punches. unless its to the body or against a bigger guy, which it was. so it doesnt make you an idiot, but being proud of it sure does.

sparring is about technique, save the KO shots for the heavybags and the fights. getting beat up to the head in sparring shortens your career, and getting KOd weakens your chin. so going all out in training is just ignorant.

Always happens specially in mid and late rounds sometimes it just heats up and you get a rush and just flow with it and the other guy gets that too. That fatboy he sparred must have glass chin and sometimes people are just sensitive even if u hit them lightly them complain to u that u hit them hard.

lol well I'm not embarrassed at all. Heated sparring sessions happen. Most of the sparring I get at my gym is tougher than some of my fights. If someone I'm sparring, especially someone bigger than me (as was the case today) is coming after me trying to kill me I'm going to retaliate. Not like I went crazy on him either. I just landed a good shot that put him down. I had no intentions of knocking him out I just seen an opening and threw a punch.

Some of the hardest hits I took in sparring came courtesy of a 125-pounder at my gym. It really does have a lot to do with experience and technique.
