Difference between sticking your Jab and pushing

topic...i'm just wondering since i hear the commentators say it alot during fights

Ya I'm intersested in what people say about the way tehy jab. Also, i heard a lot of jabs aren't really "punches" (no force behind it, just speed), but fakes in order to see the opponent's reaction and later to set up combos.

    What do you think?

im not a true boxing expert, but pushing your jab is the opposite of snapping it as you are supposed to. fighters push the jab because of lack of focus/endurance.

A snapping jab hurts a lot more and is faster.

i like the jabs thrown by hearns. they were once called "flicker jabs". they were blinding fast and very strong.

The thing is.. unless you have sick long arms like Hearns you cant get the snap and speed needed .

Jabs are real punches. They can do alot of damage as the fight goes on.

As the fight wears on and the fighters begin to tire you see alot of them pushing there jabs as they just dnt have the power behind them that they had in the eralier rounds.

i cannot stress this enough. Tha Jab is the most important punch in all of boxing. kinda like the lost art of the mid-range jumper in the NBA.
