    Foods That Raise Testosterone Levels

    Testosterone, according to the National Library of Medicine, is an important hormone that plays a critical role in several body functions:

    It helps maintain bone and muscle strength.
    It determines hair growth and where body fat gathers.
    It makes *****.
    It maintains *** drive and erections.
    It helps make red blood cells.
    It boosts energy and mood.

    The pituitary gland, located in the brain, controls the production of many of the body’s hormones, including testosterone, which is actually produced in the testicles. Low levels of testosterone, also known as hypogonadism, can cause:

    A reduced *** drive.
    Poor erections.
    Low ***** count.
    Poor sleep.
    Lowered muscle mass.

    Decreased total testosterone may be caused by:

    Chronic illness, such as diabetes.
    Problem with areas of the brain, including the pituitary gland, that control hormones.
    Low thyroid function.
    Delayed puberty.
    Diseases of the testicles (trauma, cancer, infection, immune disorder).
    Benign tumor of the pituitary cells that produce too much of the hormone prolactin.
    Too much body fat (obesity).

    Aging also lowers testosterone. Beginning around age 30 to 40, testosterone levels decrease naturally, though slowly. Over time, however, lower testosterone can cause symptoms such as loss of strength, lower *** drive and performance and sleep disturbances. As a result, many men search for ways to up their T-levels. Some take supplements, which are at best unproven and at worst dangerous to one’s health.

    But there are natural ways to boost T-levels through diet – at least to a small degree.

    Quite a few foods that can help raise testosterone levels, according to Aileen Birkitt, a registered dietitian and owner of Nutrition 4 You in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. “It’s mostly foods rich in zinc, vitamin D, selenium and magnesium,” she says.

    Some testosterone-boosting examples of zinc-rich foods are:

    Oysters, which have a very high amount of zinc.
    Fatty fish such as salmon, tuna and mackerel.
    Other shellfish, such as crab and lobster.
    Beans, such as lentils, chickpeas and black beans.

    Ground beef and beef liver also contain high amounts of zinc – but it’s not recommended to have red meat very often due to higher risk of cancer and heart disease, Birkitt says.

    Foods rich in vitamin D include:

    Fortified cereals.
    Eggs (specifically the yolks, which contain quite a bit of vitamin D).
    Low-fat milk.
    Fortified orange juice.
    Fortified plant-based milk, like soy, rice or oat milk.

    Foods rich in magnesium include leafy greens like spinach and kale. Brazil nuts and other nuts have selenium, which can help as well, Birkitt says.

    In addition, onions, garlic and ginger release all sorts of natural compounds which can help boost testosterone, Birkitt adds. And pomegranates include antioxidants that seem to support testosterone production.

    If you are looking for a single eating plan that includes most of these foods, consider the Mediterranean diet. “Following the Mediterranean diet, with an emphasis on some of the testosterone-boosting foods mentioned here, can help someone who is looking to raise testosterone levels,” Birkitt says.

    What you don’t consume can be just as important as what you do. For example, taking drugs and drinking alcohol can lower T-levels. The chemical BPA, which is found in many plastics, has been shown to lower testosterone, so avoid exposure to these chemicals.

    Along with a proper diet, there are other ways to help naturally boost testosterone:

    Regular but not excessive exercise.
    Weight control.
    Proper sleep.
    Controlling chronic diseases like diabetes.

    Taking supplements is risky. For one, they are unregulated, so you don’t know exactly what you are taking. Second, the amount of these drugs needed to raise T levels also raises other hormone levels, like estrogen, which can cause hormonal imbalance and lead to other health issues.

    It’s also important to remember that lower testosterone is natural as you age, and the vast majority of men – well over 90% – are not below the appropriate T-level for their age. Only those with unusual symptoms, such as muscle weakness, anemia, osteoporosis or infertility, need to be tested for low T through a blood test. Medically low testosterone is caused by another health condition, which often can be treated.

    But a *** drive that can’t compare to your younger days or a drop in the amount of weight you can lift are just a somewhat sad fact of getting older. Proper lifestyle, including diet, can help – but it can’t make you 20 again.

    You can not raise your testosterone past its natural levels. However, if you are deficient in something than that deficiency can cause you to have a lower testosterone than your natural peak should actually be. So if we can bring those deficiencies up to where they should be you can raise your testosterone levels to what they are supposed to be. This is why mineral/vitamin rich foods are best cause most western diets are extremely deficient of these minerals/vitamins that your body actually needs to run at its peak.

    Also icing your balls would probably give people the boost they are looking for lol, its what doctors recommend to couples who are having trouble having children due to the men low quality *****, icing your balls a few times a day for 15 minutes session can have a dramatic impact on your testosterone, ***** quality and libido. (this is the reason people swear by cold showers etc is all because they are lowering the temperature of their balls and the lower temps kicks your testes into overdrive has nothing really to do with the cold shower, if you do this do not put ice direclty on skin place in a cloth or something be smart.).

    Now if we are talking about food for anabolic effects you want to eat foods rich in ecdysterone such as spinach, quinoa etc. Ecdysterone is found naturally in leafy greens and insects and has a powerful anabolic effect its so powerful its on wada anabolic watch list... mind you theirs been no anabolic on wada watch list in years and its natural and comes from food so IDK how they will be able to ban it? Probably ban levels above x but we will have to wait and see but for now you can eat tons of spinach or find a quality supplement (this is hard aswell bunch of shady companies) and still claim natty lol. Its cousin turkersterone is stronger, but that is actually alot harder to find in food and quality supplement form is actually harder.

    You should make sure you are not deficient in Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin D3 (its a hormone really so very important to get enough), vitamin K2, Omega 3 (we can't make em, so we need to ingest them to have em), and that as your base should have you up and going almost immediately. (remember only certain formulations works so do your research) and get 8 hours of sleep minimum same time everyday lack of sleep does way more damage than you would even imagine.

          minimal being nearly impossible to measure as it’s that small of an increase

              Vegans and hippies are pushing this narrative. Meta-anaylyis of red meat showed no difference in consuming red meat in comparison to chicken, fish, plant etc. All the "studies" that say red meat is bad are observational meaning they are questionnaire and the data is self reported by the survey-ee its not a real trial.

              However, you do want to try and get grass fed beef as much as possible. Just healthier overall.

                  Did you know that boxing, getting hit in the brain, actually decreases your testosterone levels through time. There is a balance in your body, when your testosterone levels go up so much they will ultimately go down the same amount. Which is a reason that fighters so often deal with depression. I read about it in the greatest book ever written about boxing, it's called Beyond the Ring. I may have not explained it as thoroughly as the book did, but .....Rockin'

                    Almost all top level fighters are on Testosterone supplements so this doesn't affect them..
