Need to lose 2.5kg in 10 days

I have been trying to lose weight since December before my first fight at March 20, went from around 81kg to 71.5kg, but to make weight i need to be 69kg, and no matter what i do the scale number either stays in place or even goes slightly up (!)

what can i do to cut the remaining 2.5kg? I heard that i should drink lots of water and then stop drinking at all 24 hours before the fight, is it legit or bs?

thanks in advance for all the replies, i'm kinda panicked

Relax kid.... You'll lose most of that weight when you sleep the night before. Boxing is not like baseball, your comfort is not a consideration. Just quit stuffing your face so much and learn control over your hunger.

Water does aid the fat burning process, but drinking alot of water should have been done months ago. I'd drink lots of water up to 7 days before the weigh in. You'll have to sweat that water out of yourself in your training until you are on weight. Your stomach should already be smaller from months of weight loss training, so hunger is not an issue. Eat sensibly, train hard get your rest. Take multi vitamins and curb stuffing your face.

If you cut back before the weigh in, you will most likely lose the weight that you need to in your sleep. If not than you'll simply have to get out the sauna suit and jump rope for some work. It's best to take care of these issues well before the weigh in/bout, not the night before.........Rockin'

      Whats 2.5kg in American?

Jk, 5lbs is nothing. Cut sodium. Eat prunes or a soluable fiber and drink lots of water. I swear by fiber, it helped me lose stubborn lbs.

I sometimes drop that much after a good dump, no lie either.

Remember that carbs cause the body to store more water. They turn to glycogen and unused glycogen holds onto water molecules. So start cutting out carbs the last couple days to weigh in, especially the night before. It all depends on how much you have left to cut. But it will make a difference. Once you make weight, start getting those electrolytes and carbs and water back into your system. Don’t go too crazy with it though. Your body will rebound fast after being deprived. You want to feel good and strong but not heavy and sluggish. Just pace your recovery.

First thing I do, too, is start cutting down on water and carb intake.

I've always been curious how some fighters gain over 20 pounds overnight

Adding to this, I've been taking Metamucil every day and it really cleans you out. Dropped 3-4 pounds without doing much.

Fiber is good, alot of people dont get enough daily. High fiber, High Protien, and Solid FAT diet is key for a male.
