    Push-ups affecting speed?

Do doing push-ups affect punching speed? Let's say I do 10 sets of 20 pushups, would it make me any slower?

    Thanks!

No. Doing a rep scheme that high should help with muscle endurance but speed should not be affected.

I do alot of push ups as well . I do them as part of my conditioning circuit as well . I can do 1 arm elbow in as well . No I don't think it does but once I started doing 1 arm elbow in I had to stretch off shoulders before any training because it was giving me sore muscles and I fought I was slowing as well but was wrong . Just make sure to loosing upper body off before and after training .Stretch shoulders .If anything it improves speed and endurance if done right

I do 320 push ups a day but it's more for conditionning and strenght. What really helped to improve my speed is Shadow boxing.

My trainer says that as long as you do them fast and don't do them to the point where you are straining to do the reps (around 50 or 60 reps), it should not affect your speed.

I'm going to assume this wasn't a real question.
