    Need Help! If I lift weights will they shorten my reach?

    Thinking about starting a weight progam, but I have a real long reach. By doing weights will they shorten my reach? And can you tell me some good points about weights and can they help me in my boxing career?

    Weights used to gain muscle will give you unwelcome extra weight and you'll be too heavy for your frame and fighting at a weight above what's natural. So I would reccomend using them minimally or not at all.

      no, they don't short your reach and when you use them right you can improve your punch or speed

        Well it won´t make your brain shrink any smaller. Thats not possible.

          Doing weights will not make your arms shorter.

            Your bones won't shrink and thats what makes your reach.

              I used to have a 78 inch reach, I started lifting weights and now I have a 69 inch reach.

                  I used to be 6'9" and black I started lifting weights and now I'm 6'2" and polish, beware.

                    Only by washing in warm water and not air drying will shorten your reach, IMHO
