What are the best jump ropes?

In general a good jump rope for you would be one that when you step on it in the middle extends to your shoulder on both sides. Just get something durable. You can probably find a jump rope at target or wall mart.

there are alot of different types of jump ropes.

look around on buyjumpropes.net for some, that is where i usually get mine from.

Take some Clothes line rope soak it in oil any kind really over night then let it sit out for a day to dry makes a nice heavy rope

also coaxial cable for like the tv is pretty good but a little stiff takes some time to loosen up but after a week or 2 its a pretty good jump rope nice and heavy cheap as well

The leather ones which are always the last to be picked up at the gym. If they were good enough for Ali, and Foreman, they are good enough for me.

I like the leather everlast ones. Just try to find a leather one with the ball bearings in the handles. The cheaper ones with the rubber/plastic rope would always get skrewed up with me, the bearing out would leak on the rubber and since oil has a tendency to break down rubber the rope would only last a couple days.
