    Improvement? (Video#2)

all right so from watching it a few times i need to pay more attention to my elbows being in tighter

what are your opinions? at around 35 seconds i do some thing that sounds like 3 punches and i knock the bag off one of the chains sounds cool dont know what i did and around 1 min i tried a few jabs just so i could get opinions on them and at the end i think are shovel hooks but not quite. A variation perhaps, perhaps i wasn't lurching up wards enough, perhaps i have no idea what i was doing. im working on slipping dodging side stepping and weaving but im not to good so ill post that next weekend once i get better

Probably spent 2-3 hours on the bag this week

Yes i raised the bag. but its still the 60 Lb bag

it hits me in the face

not terrible. you look off balance at times, and I cant tell because I cant see your feet, but if I had to guess, I would say you are very flat-footed.

also all your punches look to loopy, for some its aight, but not all of them. looks better than before. add some head movement and lateral movement, and snap your punches more. Definitely need a bigger bag no doubt about that. not too bad I think, I see some potential.

should i keep my hands loose then make a fist as i hit the bag? i do it some times when i shadow box and i exercise my wrists but i dont really try it to much on the bag with the gloves on

of the set of jabs i think the first 3 were me punching with my palm facing right and the last few were with it facing down which looked better? i think the last few but perhaps they were too loopy?

i usually keep my hands loose until i throw the actual punch, and I think that is what all trainers recommend to do as well.

as far as your jabs, doesnt matter which ones looked better, it matters about the proper way, and the proper way is palm facing down. I think you should definitely get to a gym because I truly think your views will change about proper punches. Right now you think punching is just punching, but when you start to box, your whole world will change. Im tellin ya...

AAAAAA!!!!!! Much better!!! At least you're in a line this time....kinda. Start with that. Get your shoulders in a line so you don't square up. Does that makes sense?

Start with your line and your jab. Do nothing but jab, and sprinkle a little str8 rights here and there. Jab jab jab until your arm falls off. All types of jabs. Fast, stiff, strong, short, double, triple, angle.

Work on technique rather than speed and power. That ***** will come once your body gets used to throwing punches with proper technique. It's all about timing anyway.

Keep working. Rome wasn't built in one day.

When you're hitting the bag just focus on your technique. You can work on power and speed once your technique is sound. Watch plenty of youtube videos on punching technique.

Also, after you throw your right hand bring it back to your chin straight away. And always stand with your left shoulder facing your opponent. Don't square up, you're giving your opponent too big a target.

no offense, but what the *** is the point of these vids? Obviously you are a complete beginner and you need to real trainer to work with.

What'd you think that you improved so much in between those vids that it was worthwhile to post another one?

stop attention whoring and if you want to learn boxing, go to a real gym. stop posting these worthless videos which only show how bad you are. You should at least have some skill before you start asking for critique.

                Damn. That's kinda harsh.

I can remember hittin the bag and training in my garage before i got to a gym. Years ago. This was before all this youtube videos, i-pods, *******, facebook *****....so i wasn't doin it for attention.

IMO, i think he looks better in the 2nd video than the 1st. Sure he needs alot of work. But how can someone improve if there's no one to help them improve. Maybe he can't go to a gym, so he has to rely on the scene.

I would like to be a boxer I did alot of stuff wrong in my first video() and ive been praticing trying to stay in guard keeping my hands up and punching correctly some what do you have any advice for what im doing that might be a bad habit or what im not doing that would be better?

as far as staying in shape heres what i do and what my goals are im 6'4" at 205-208 im at 19.2% bf according to my scale dropped down from 20% in about 2 weeks since i started running 3 miles every day i would like to box at around 15% so im going to work up to 6 miles every day i also currently jump rope / work the bag about 30 mins to an hour ever day and shadow box/ work on punch speed 30 mins- hour every day and 300 situps where i lay flat with my arms stretched out above my head and my feet not under anything and try to touch my toes works the shoulders intercostals and serratus anterior the streching of the back and the legs not to mention the abs but thats just the daily routine im hopeing to stay at 15 and be able to eat what ever i want I would like to include an hour of boxing class, hour of sparring and hour of weights into this 3-4 times a week as well as double my daily routine and get 6 miles down in under 40 mins maybe even get lower then 15% i think its just my size though i think 15 should be fine alot of my friends are 8-12 and im just as tonned as them if not more at 19.2%

But yeah i dont think i need training advice to get in shape i just would need to watch my diet though i eat healthy good foods just i eat lots of them
