I'm 5'6 and i fight at 135lb don't know how many stones that is but most of my opponents are taller, basically you want tight guard, lots of head movement (constant slipping weaving and bobbing) and jab your way into range, for me I always want to plant my head into the guy's chest, that where I'm safe and I can goto work.

its not the size of the dog in the fight, its size of the fight in the dog.

Good tips... I will practice these too, I plan to practice loads of different things and adapt them to make me comfortable, do you know what your reach is?

68inch winspan which is normal for my height i think

Oh cool, I was gonna do wingspan but decided to do armpit to fist instead. Though yours sounds roughly right, would you say 22 inch is descent for a guy my size or just about right?

Take advantage of the fact that you're a smaller target and if you learn to bob and weave then loop over counter punches and throw body shots, you can be a very tough opponent.

              Get a gun....just playin.

Stay small and stay inside. I got the same problem, i'm 5'7 and that's hella short already. I always find myself fighting bigger people, since i was a kid. It ain't that bad. Just stay on the inside.

At first we went calm... but obviously people get heated up and friends do usually go rougher on each other, he started hitting me with big punches which isn't the problem I can take it... but I had trouble because whenever I went into jab... he would catch me 3-4 times with descent shots because he has more reach.

I would like some tips for a smaller fighter being one myself, just to see what I can do in the situation of facing bigger guys again... obviously he has more power than me because he is 3 stone heavier than me, but he did have a descent amount of power.

I kinda sometimes hate being a smaller guy, it sometimes pisses me off having a disadvantage and I wish I was bigger... but I love Boxing and might as well work with what I got and I do not intend to quit over it, if anything it has driven me to wanting to get better.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
There could be numerous reasons as to why this is happening and the least of it is height. Maybe it's the way you throw your jab, maybe it's your reflexes, maybe it's your footwork maybe it's your inexperience and maybe it's everything I mentioned. W/O a video, it's hard to give advice.

A tall guy can also get countered by a shorter opponent the way you're getting countered. Put a video up of you shadowboxing, hitting the bag or the actual sparring session with this guy you're talking about, then we come up with a gameplan!

Some guy's have already adviced you to stay close and put your head in your opponent's chest and start rippin'. But the problem is, you're getting countered while trying to get in.

So, their advice is good, if you're asking how to fight on the inside, but your question is, how to work your way in. I don't know the mistakes you're making, so no one can really give any advice.

All you told us was, you throw a jab and you get countered, well, this is boxing, and you do get hit.
