are diet beverages good for cutting weight?

i'm trying to lose some weight for an upcoming fight and i've never cut weight before. i don't really like drinking water while i'm eating, so are diet cokes or any diet beverages good for losing weight?

Diet Coke has less calories than regular coke, so it's better than regular Coke for losing weight, but that doesn't mean it's good.

Drink water, if you absoluetely can't stand it, get those Crystal Light flavouring packages to add to water, if you still can't stand it drink fruit juice (not fruit drink or fruit punch - 100% juice). Those are all better choices than Diet Coke.

But if you can't handle drinking water, how are you going to handle getting punched in the face?

Diet soda has no calories, so from a weight loss perspective they are certainly better than fruit juice, which is full of sugar (albeit natural, healthy sugar). Health wise? Not so much.

I know fitness/BB competitors who use diet coke to "dry out" before a competition. They drink so much diet coke, which has diuretic properties, that they become ripped before going on stage. No ****.

You should never drink calories when losing weight.

When i cut weight i tend to avoid carbs and never drink carbs.

Its hard to stay just on water so a sugar free coffee or zero carb soda is ok.
