So after the Christmas period and the gym re-opens i'm going to join a boxing gym and attempt to find my way in the sport. I'm hoping to rack up a whole lot of amateur fights in the next few years (i'm 16 in three months) to learn my way in the sport and hopefully if i'm talented enough and learn enough i can try to turn pro. What i want to know is about amateur fights. It seems weird to me that i can just show up at some gym and tell them i want to fight and within a few months they can have me fighting as an amateur. Also were are amateur fights fought at? I'm not clueless about boxing just about amateur boxing.

as for the thread starter, yea bro, it's as easy as going to a boxing gym, asking that you wanna join they prestiges home of upcoming boxers and if you got what it takes the coach will help you with finding ametuer bouts with other boxers in other gyms/nighclubs etc
then when you think you ready, get a pro license
