you get no more protection from a double than you do from a custom in fact a custom mouthguard is 1000% more protective than any store bought mouthguard. gladiator make a upper custom called the combat that allows you to clench and still hold open a breathing space. you will need to call for this design it is not on the web site

I use a Brain Pad Pro + Plus and love it. With single guards, if you get hit with say an uppercut, your bottom teeth are slamming right into the mouthguard. With the double style, there's padding and space between. It also keeps your jaw aligned properly even when you're tired and breathing hard.

It's definitely not as comfortable as a custom one (or even a standard boil and bite), and it's hard to talk with it in, but it feels so much better when you get hit. In my opinion anyways.

That ***** is grippa grap. I got the Everlast brain pad thingy. It's aiite. I like a double mouthguard rather than the one that just goes on the toop teeth.

According to my dentist, they're all the same. Custom mouth guards are made for comfort, but a boil and bite will provide the same protection as long as it fits snug. Fitting snug means that when you open your mouth, the mouthguard stays attached to your top teeth. I use this one:

          Inexpensive and it fits well.

I disagree..the material they use for Custom mouthguards is obviously of higher quality than that of bNb's. I feel more comfortable knowing that i paid good $$ for something that virtually all pros use.

But i ain't no dentist..and he could be right.

No problem. I'm very happy with my Brain Pad, but I'd like to see the one he mentioned.
