Got told so, then everyone was trying to force me to eat certain things, then make me train all the time. If I didn't do it, they'd get angry at me (going "you wanna bea boxer or what?". (my dad is trying to get me down the boxing gym 24/7) One of my better friends who got me into boxing, had a go at me in a nightclub (yeah he was in a nightclub, patranoising prick!) saying "babla you got the potential but you're a lazy ****" I'm more natural at speed and reflexes tbh. But like I said, i'd rather be a novice boxer enjoying myself in life drinking beer and coke than training all the time to be something I might not be.

How tall are ya? From that pic you look very overweight. You could probably get down to welterweight.

So you just train sometimes because you like boxing, or what?

Gotta also be careful when people tell you you're talented. A lot of the time coaches and trainers tell their fighters and athletes that they've got talent just to give them motivation. This might not be the case for you. You might be talented, I don't know.

Prior to starting boxing I played football (soccer) for over 10 years. My coach told me I was talented many times, as he did our whole team. None of us had talent.

Although I have to admit in a sport like boxing there's probably a smaller chance that a trainer will lie to your face about something like that just to get your confidence up.

For me, a talented fighter is usually someone who can come to the gym, train one or two weeks, and is just pretty natural in the ring. Someone who can get away with having their hands down because they can slip quickly and naturally. Someone who doesn't really need help on their footwork because they have a knack for moving inside the ring. To me, that's talent.

Then again, there are people with physical talent, like strength and high endurance. I would much rather have sport-specific talent though, especially in boxing.

I know I'll make a living out of it. I know how to do something else but I don't like it!
