I am sorry to annoy you with the question. I was looking for some further insightful information and discussion about the relative advantages/disadvantages of traditional high cut boxing boots so I guess I could have posted the title a bit better. But dont be so quick to judge someone you dont know, I was boxing before you were born.

Its not just ankle support, They are light-weight and specifically designed for the movements you make in the ring, You almost feel barefooted so you feel more agile. They help with movement A LOT!
They help with skipping too, Because there is hardly any sole on the bottom.
Oh and they are built to last, Take your average pair of trainers to the boxing gym and you will see how bad they look after a few months, All the weight being transfered ruins the soles and shape of the shoe, Boxing boots don't do that.

Well P4Gking according to MSAGrains profile he is 22 and born in 1986, I had my first fight when I was 12 in 1984 at 42 kgs, my last was in 2000 , 28 yrs old at 75kgs. I have started training again at 35 and am already back to 76kgs feel stronger than ever. You dont have to believe it.

Nearly everyone else I train and have have trained with use normal runners and only high cut boots for comp.
