hey, well thats a good plan actually but i wouldnt say its the way to go, you want your career to last as much as you can when you are on top, and if you ever lose which its very common on boxing heeh you need some time to get right back on track, still i do think that now boxers last a lot more than they did if they take care of themselves, and your post does make some sense, but remember many boxers come from humble origins so staying so long in the Ams for them is impossible they need to start making some cash,
    still good pot.

And i plan to turn pro next year, right after turning 21

Tyson123, let me guess you're going to turn pro at 18 after bulking up and becoming a heavyweight, aim to be heavyweight champion by 20, eventually spirral into a world where you're being exploited and never really regain your deserved legacy, ending your career in a very undeserved solitude, aswell as being penniless and wrongly crucified by the media?

You're the guy who described himself as looking like a "young white version of Mike Tyson" despite the fact Tyson was/is had a very rare natural large robust build and having quite distinct black features...

I'm not even going to entertain this ****** idea, or this ****** thread, I don't believe you box Tyson123.

Most pro's fight in gyms or dinner parties, only a very small % make it to the big shows, most of them just being somebody to fight an upcoming star to increase their record.

I think this entire thread is pathetic because it's got **** all to do with age, it's about ability. Given the choice between some 18 year old who can't box and a 25 year old who can, i'd choose the latter. A long pro' career may mean you will gain experience and have a great chance to rise the ranks but the chance is still pretty slim. I haven't got into boxing because I want to turn pro', i've never contemplated it nor care to, I just want to box because I like boxing. Just go to your lessons, do your training, fight your fights and go on from there.

hmm well im 14 now, ive been boxing for a year and a half , had a couple of fight (one real one exhibition) and now im with a new trainer who is correcting some style defects and bad habits i have and hes telling me thats the reason i lost my fights, i havent been taught properly. but im getting good sparring etc and he said the problems are only minor

so im looking to have another fight in the next few months and then from there ill be fighting pretty reguarly, every 6 weeks or so.

i plan to fight reguarly in the ams until im about 20 ish and then depending on how well ive done (ie: if i ever make it to the olympics, national titles etc) i might consider a pro career. this would also depend on my other career prospects at the time also (i get good marks at school and im planning to go to university) but its a really hard living as a pro fighter so if i did make that choice it wouldnt be a rash decision

I never said i looked like a Young White Tyson i said if there was a boxer that was closest to looking like me it was a young white Tyson. You've never even see me in real life so how can you claim otherwise? Anyways i realized i look more like a Zab Judah, and Tyson mix.
