hi, ive been eating a fair bit of dried fruit. Ive been getting the dried out banana chips. Does anyone know what the process is off drying them out. What i am worried about is do they add sugar or some sort of chemical to dry them out or are they just air dried. Im trying to eat as healthy as i can and cut out as much sugar as i can but im not sure if the dried banana chip are a healthy snack or bad for my diet.

Check the ingredients. If there is sugar added, it will probably say sugar on the ingredients. A lot of dried fruits have sulfur dioxide added to help it dry, although not all. I think with the FDA, most companies have to write out what they add in the ingredients.
To be perfectly safe though, just eat regular bananas.

they dont come in a packet. i get them from a market where they sell fresh fruit and meat. so thats why im not sure about the ingredients. one time i did buy them from a super market in a packet a while ago and i think it did say thay had sugar in them, but because these dont come in a packet i was wondering if there was a different process to drying them out
