When you run.. Its all mental.. When you're tired... Running tests your limits. Gets your mind in there.. You can do alot of thinking while running.. Its what I do.. Think of it as alone time to think about ****.

But its really good. Works out your whole body and trains you for being prepared of being tired in the ring. Its a must IMO. I said the same thing as well, but its really good.

honestly, i've never felt anything improve my fitness and stamina more than running.

I can't stress enough, the fact that i wished i'd started running earlier when i got into competitive boxing.

Running is a MUST mate, try get out in the mornings and go for a 30 minute jog. Once you have done a fair bit of jogging start doing 400m intervals twice a week.

Helps majorly with your breathing when your nackered, and breathing in general.

I kind of agree and disagree.

Running for the sake of it is wrong (cos that's what boxers do etc!).

Running sets, sprints, hills, stairs as part of an overall routine and applied properly I agree with.

You don't have to run, in the ring you don't run. However, running is just a basic easy way to improve cardio' and gently work out most of your body. It is just a basic easy way to generally make you a healthier fitter person. Now you can do all of this with other exercises. When I do sit and think about it though, there arent many exercises that can benefit your cardio' aswell. I mean bag work will help your cardio', just general fitness will help cardio' but running is just an easy one which does it all at once. If you don't want to run, don't, it's not essentially just highly recommended. I haven't been running for about 1.5 weeks now, my ankles were ****ed, hopefully going out on Tuesday.
