I have boxed for 8 years and am a converted southpaw and over the years I have found one of my most effective punches to be the right hook to the body. I love throwing it but no matter how many fights I watch I can never seem to find too many southpaws that use the right hook downstairs very much. I have watched Hagler use it and love every minute of it but after that my mind runs blank for great right hooks to the body. I love watching how fighters set up their bread and butter punches but unfortunately I box so awkward my options are limited as to who I can watch. Does anyone know of any good southpaws that have solid right hooks to the body that I could watch? If you can avoid the Pac-Man, Judah, etc style boxers I don't have the hand-speed to get away with what they do...

I suggest watching this video:
I am a southpaw myself and my right hook is one of my favorite weapons as it is easy to land it on regular stance fighters, even more so when it's to the body. Personally i like to slip the jab and and throw it. Moving to your right when you are on the inside will very often give you an opportunity to land a right hook to the body, too.

Why do you want to watch fighters doing what you're already doing? How will that help you? In my opinion, you should be watching southpaws who do stuff you're not doing, so you can learn some new moves/study what works.
Also, a left hook is generally more effective to the body, since the liver is on that side. I can't recall ever seeing anyone go down from a right hook to the body. Right uppercut to the solar plexus yes, but not a right hook which would land on the side of the body.

A right hook to the body followed quickly by a left hook to the head will stumble anybody. Esp' if you can follow this with a big backhand swing to the head. If you can trap them between left/right blows to the side of the head you can dramatically increase the chances of causing concussions and thus a knockout. Alot harder to do than it sounds.
I fight orthadox stance, i'm not strong so I need to utilise what I have and having my right hand as my lead would probably mean I wouldn't cause much damage at all. Might aswell throw flower petals at them haha.

If your a southpaw fighting an orthodox fighter its very easy to hit someone's kidney or back with the right hook to the body if misplaced, its a punch that can leave you in trouble with the ref. The exposed body is more open to a southpaw left to the body.
Its one reason why its rarer to see left hooks to the body landed on southpaws by orthodox fighters.
