    abs question

now i understand abs are just like any other muscle, except the layer of fat over it must be burned off to reveal them.

SO, if i plan on doing a whole lot of cardio and skipping later on down the line once my injury heals, would ab-work like crunches/bicycle/leg raises be beneficial for the time being even while i cant really see the definition right now?

and comments on my current routine please....

2 sets of 30 crunches, 30 bicycle crunches, then 30 leg raises

2 sets of 20 crunches, 20 bicycle crunches, then 20 leg raises

to total 100 of each in a workout every other day.

    thanks.

I think those are good. I dont know bout bicycle crunches. I do 150 in the evening . 50 normal ones. 50 to the left and 50 to the right.

you could target the area more efficiently.

try waist turning exercises - think like swinging a tennis racket or baseball bat. many reps.

this will definitely trim your waist and ab area as it is a concentrated form of cardio.

it is also very good for you. i have many exercises like these i have to do daily to get particular kinds of strength.

I've been doing abs excercises every other day for about four months and I can feel them under the skin and can see them under certain conditions. Like you, I just have to burn off the final small layer of fat and all will be revealed!!! I have to say, it's taking a while to burn off but will be worth it in the end. I remember reading somewhere on here that the layer round the abdomen is the last place in your body to lose fat.

yeah it is in males, fish oil however seems to aid the fat loss in the abdominal area and highly recommend it.
