Where to train in San Diego?

I want to ask, whether anybody knows any decent places to train boxing?

Usually I'm a MMA-guy, but I love boxing too. Besides that, I want to focus on my hands, because I think better hands would improve my specific style more than better kicking and the upper body movement in boxing, which you get taught, is mostly way better than in kickboxing/MT classes.
I'm from Germany and I will study at SDSU for one semester from august 08 til december 08.

I already know a few spots like city boxing, undisputed, throwdown etc. I know they all teach boxing and muay thai. I trained both seperately and I can say (out of my own experience) that you get better boxing in boxing only gyms. (I think that's common sense )
but I don't want to judge those gyms, without having trained there.

So .... are there any advice? recommendations?

    thx, very much!

    sorry for my moderate english!

i'm in san diego only for 5 months, so I can't fight because officially i'm there to study and i'm not planning to cause too many problems.

here in germany i only fought mma, but when i train boxing i see myself on the level of the average amateur boxer, who has up to 10 fights.

what i don't like are fancy gyms with sauna and things which are just there, but doesn't make you better.

i would like to find a gym where people just want to improve. not those people who like fitness boxing, joining boxing classes only for the purpose to tell other people, that they're boxing now.
i think you know what i'm talking about.

i'm definitely far away from beeing pro level but i just want to train, where good trainers teach and where the people take it seriously.
in addition i prefer old school gyms with a solid sweaty warehouse flair
