    Hello thar. Sum h3lp pl0x

My super first post ought to be introductional yet still i need to ask a "few" questions.

I come from Norway. A country that has put a ban to professional boxing and Amateur boxing barely hung on and managed to survive.

I quit playing soccer after it started to get seriously besides that i was to rough around the edges. Thus i ended up sitting on my ass playing cometitive computer games like CS, Quake, Unreal, starcraft, warcraft 3 etc.etc while brawling in the streets of my hometown to feed my thirst for competition.

January this year i simply had enough and started taking martial art classes twice a week. I also started dieting and working out after some research.

The dojo i whent to had an hour of boxing sessions with a retired amateur boxer every thursday and these lessons got me hungry for more. I never wanted to grade myself or get different belt colours I WANTED A FRIKKEN COOL BELT THAT SAID IM THE BEST! GO ME !!;D

thats basically when i figured out that Norway has outlawed proboxing <,< Im gonna take my chances when the amateur club reqruits again in august with renewed motivation.

Basically ive got til august to get in shape and ready. Ive cut all ties to candy, sweet drinks and alcohol and already gone down 10 kg. Im 1.76 metres tall, have a reach on around 55 cm, currently residing at 83 Kg trying to diet myself down to 79 Kg so i can compete in light heavyweight or get even lower.

    ok Now for the Questions.
I have a standard 1hour workout 3 times aday 3 days a week designed shape me even further up. aswell as a workout i found doing weighted punching sets consisting of uppers, hooks, knuckled pushups and straight punching due to the lack of heavybag / regular boxing training.

Would this and alot of running get me in shape for august or do you have other suggestions?

should i aim to drop even more weight to fight in the middeweights ? Would that be better for a guy at my height even with my slow methabolism?

I considered myself orthodox style but i often find myself going Southpaw (old streetfighting style)
During the limited times i can practice boxing i ve had the coach commenting on it saying ill be knocked out if i did it during a fight.
Is switchhitting really that hard during a real boxing fight?
Would it serve any real purpose? Or should i stop rebelling with my own streetlearned style and stick with orthodox=?

should i get any suplements other than the standard vitamin/amino acid pill aday?

No i cant get into a real boxing gym untill august. Ive considered moving to another country to continue boxing since Proboxing is illegal but that will have to wait til after i am done in the navy. <,<

ok to answer some of your questions:
i would only advise switchhitting if you try it out first and practice with it. it is extremely rarely done in am.
also, is your reach really 50cm, that cant be right, because that would make your arms extremely short.
    running is always good.
i have to say at 1.76m (about 5'10) you would be heavy even at 79kg, but it is ok. if you are naturally that weight then so be it. just work on your technique and fitness and itll fall into place
    good luck and welcome

How old are you? And don't think about going pro, first achieve something in the amateurs before thinking to go pro.

ok to answer the first guy. Yes my reach from shoulder to knuckles is accurately 55 Centimetre.

and then to the next poster. I never thought about going pro at once its just that it felt really discuraging to continue if i couldnt at some time go pro in my own country since its banned.

im 19 atm. soon 20. Abit late to start but i simply have a huge cauldron of fire and anger that i need to get rid of and after working on heavybags i just feel super. like ive let out some of the steam inside. So my age doesnt really matter to me.

Where in Norway are you from?
Also, don't worry about pro boxing being banned, as there are alot of fights in Denmark (If you ever go pro, that is).

Also, how heavy are the dumbells you are using to shadowbox?

(Bare sa alt på engelsk så jeg ikke får masse klager :P)

also i just wondered, i want bombs with both hands so during weight exersizes i should do low reps right?

I live faar south in norway. Kristiansnand is infact so south the boat that goes to denmark is practically just a 15 min walk down the road :P Theres a gym here accepting guys at my age during August so thats what im working for.

in boxing, you shouldnt really do low reps high weight, youre better off gaining low muscle strenght then high muscle. the muscle will weigh you down and make you slower. look at the bro boxers who fight similar weight to you. have a look at their physiques, and aside from a few heaviews, most are pretty lean
