anyone ever been KO'd in a sanctioned bout?

Ive been ko'd once and then stopped once.

The ko was in the 89 golden glove state final, winning the fight and then got caught. One thing that lead to it I believe was I was on the ropes and I slipped under/ kind of a hook that he threw and his forearm came around and caught me in the back of the head. That messed me up pretty good. We fell into a clinche and when the ref broke us up I was all teedering and stuff so he pulled out the 8 count. Man those shots to the back of the head F-U up. He caught me with something a couple of seconds later and that was it.

To be ko'd in the ring is nothing great but is in no was shamefull. Again, to step up says volumes.................Rockin'

Not yet *touch wood* There is more of a chance of a premature stoppage that a ko win though in the amateurs. More of a flash ko or one that knocks you out cold.

Only had one fight though lol. And won.

You are very realistic with the "not yet" because it could happen to anyone and every one.

One thing, a stoppage in the amatuers neglecting the oppertunity of the knockout is never premature. Its considered perfect. The #1 thing that we look for when calling a bout is to keep everyone safe and to never let them recieve unneeded blows................Rockin'

Yeah, it only takes one shot on the chin and it would knock anyone out even a Baldomir if hit right.

yeah, been doing the usa Boxing since 2000. Got certified with the Association of Boxing Commisions to ref the pros awhile ago but with the current situation all of my reffing has been put on hold.

Cool that would be awesome to do. You refereed in any big fights?
