Is it normal to be a righty, yet lead with your right hand?

Im a righty, but i dont feel comfortable at all if i lead with my left. Is this normal?

Well, I'm left handed with an orthodox stance if that helps.

Does it feel coordinated when you jab?

I think it's easy to learn to throw a hook with your strong hand, but a jab for some reason is tougher

Yes. I find it easier to throw the jab out with my right. I feels more natural.

          Well then.

I would point out that Andy Lee is a righthanded southpaw, but you may not want to emulate him at this exact moment

that's because your right hand is your strong hand, but a straight right in orthodox stance will do so much more damage than a straight left in southpaw stance

I am a righty and still fight southpaw, I dont what it is but I seem to confuse people and getting different openings with the southpaw stance, and I feel fighting orthodox im makint too much mistakes but yeat it is cool

if you feel its easy like that then do it i dont tho im a right handed boxer but sumtimes it feels better when i switch to southpaw but it depends on how comfortable you are doing it i suppose

I play some sports right handed and write right-handed. I also do many things left-handed, and when I took up boxing I felt uncomfortable in an orthodox stance because I am left-eye dominant; I can't see around an orthodox guard. Do a search for "eye dominant" on this site for some prior posts, and maybe Google "eye dominance," too.

It is possible that, like me, you are right-handed but left-eye dominant. This means that the main sight picture that your brain interprets is from your left eye. Do what you're comfortable with, and listen to your coach.
