I'm not a big fan of weighted ropes although I have used them, I prefer to use speed ropes and just attach wrist weights. Therefore getting the weight of a weighted rope but the speed of a speed rope, the best of both worlds if you like. But weighted ropes are a good upper body exercise just that I like to use my jump rope for cardio.

i like them to work the shoulders, but you dont get as good of cardio.

I use one that is 1 kg per handle. I hated it at first but now I only use it.

          I use a 1kg and 2kg rope. It's a ***** on your forearms/shoulders after any extended period.

I am pretty against weighted ropes. I turn to weights for shoulder, arm strength etc. To me the jump rope is for foot work and cardio... It's relaxing for me, it's what I do when I am stressed, etc.
