Ive always loved boxing, and I decided recently that i was going to try, now i know i must join a gym, get a trainer, and start a workout regimen. I was just wondering is it realistic for me to stay around my same size and be a legitimate boxer i am 6'4" 170 Lbs, with 79 " reach, I am very lean, and i am in shape

go to 165.. and run alot..
Boxing is great... I just lost for the first time tonight.. now im 5-1... and it sucks because the reason was i started showing off and ended up losing by 1 point because I got too ****y in the 3rd round.. after cutting his eye and splitting his nose open.
I got ****y early and paid a win for it 2nite.. jus a lesson i leanred that might help you down the road.

yo if u walk around at 170 u could make middleweight (160) .. u would have a huge advantage the lower u can go cuz of ur height... u always wanna be top of ur weight division... also depends what kind of boxer u are... if u think u got speed and r quick u can hang with lower weights and also maybe beat slower guys in heavier weights... but if u cant take power well.. the go as low as u can. good luck
